He is the Invincible One, against whom no power can prevail. No force in the universe can withstand the might of His will. Al-'Aziz is mentioned frequently in the Qur'an in connection with verses of retribution. However, like a true victor, Allah delays punishment, even though His power is ultimate. He does not rush to destroy those who persist in rebellion and sin.
A
person who lives their life in obedience to Allah's commands, becoming strong
and invincible, yet refrains from using their power for revenge, reflects the
beautiful name of al-'Aziz. We can find the traces of al-'Aziz within ourselves
by resisting the demands of our ego and flesh, and satisfying our lawful needs
through clean, honest, lawful means. If we act with wisdom and clarity in all of
our thoughts and actions, we may embody Allah's attribute of al-'Aziz.
'Abd
al-'Aziz is the one whom Allah has made invulnerable to all attacks, while
granting victory over all opposing powers. If someone who is needed by others
in their time of need recites ya "Aziz for 40 days after morning prayers,
they will not require assistance from anyone and will be able to aid others.
