One name of Allah that contains the essence of all other divine names is Allah. Therefore it is referred as al-ism al azam or the Greatest Name.
No one
can be named Allah. It is only befitting for the One, Allah Himself. No one
else in the whole of His creation is worthy of this name, as it is stated in
Quran:
Do you
know anyone worthy of the same name as He? (Surah Maryam 65).
The
scholars say that there are five qualities or attributes which are combined
into the name Allah. And there five qualities make the name Allah unique. They
are:
Qidam:
He is a being but not through the phenomenon of coming into being. He always
existed. He existed even before any existence.
Baqa:
He is forever, without any end. All ends end at Him and at the end its only Him
without any end. He is eternal.
Wahdaniyyah:
He is witout any resemblance He is unique.
Qiyam bi nafsihi: He does not depend upon anything or anyone for His existence. Everything and everyone Depends upon Him for existence.
Allah
is perfect in all aspects especially in the followings:
Hayah:
Allah possesses an everlasting, timeless existence that extends into both the
past and the future without interruption. He is self-sufficient, relying only
on His eternal knowledge of being alive. This existence is not bound by any
physical attributes, such as flesh or bones, and is entirely distinct from any
other form of life.
‘ilm: Allah's knowledge is all-encompassing, covering both the visible and the invisible, without exception. His knowledge is so vast that He is aware of the minutest details, such as a black ant on a black stone on the darkest of nights, and even the vibrations of atoms. He is privy to the deepest thoughts and desires in your heart, even those you are unaware of. His knowledge encompasses all secrets, and He is aware of everything that exists, even before it comes into being and after it has passed away.
- Sam ‘Basar: Allah possesses the qualities of all-hearing and all-seeing. He perceives what is perceivable and imperceptible, and listens to what is audible and inaudible. His ability to hear is not limited by distance, nor is His ability to see hindered by darkness. He doesn't rely on ears or eyes to hear and see; rather, He perceives everything through His eternal Essence and pre-existence, including sounds, words, shapes, colors, air, wind, movement, silence, thoughts, and memories.
- Iradah: Allah is the source of all will. He determines the course of events and His decisions are unalterable. The existence of all things is due to His will. Everything unfolds according to His divine plan, and things are the way He intends them to be. At the end of their appointed time, all things will disappear according to His will.
- Qudrah: Allah possesses complete power. There is nothing beyond His capability. However, His power is contingent upon His will. He holds power over the entirety of the eighteen thousand universes and beyond, and does not require assistance from anyone or anything. Allah is the doer of all things, and it is not within our place to question His timing, method, or reasoning.
- Takvin: All that exists and occurs is dependent upon Allah. He is the exclusive creator, having shaped every element of creation with excellence, symmetry, and equity. The whole of creation, including men, jinn, the heavens and the worlds, devils, animals, plants, rocks, and gems, was formed by Him from non-existence. Allah alone existed before the universe, and He brought it into being as an expression of His love, will, wisdom, power, and compassion, not due to any need on His part.
- Kalam: Every word spoken and heard belongs to Allah. His directives, decrees, and judgments that apply to all of His creation are contained within His words, which are found in the last divine book, the Holy Qur'an. This book encompasses all other holy texts and contains infinite meanings that are enduring. Allah's word is intangible and does not require the movement of the tongue and lips, nor does it rely on sound waves or the collision of molecules. It does not necessitate ears to be heard, nor does it have letters that require eyes to be read.
'Abdullah is a servant who has reached the highest level of honor attainable in this creation because he Creator has unveiled the secrets of all His attributes in him. As a result, Allah Most High named His beloved Prophet with this name. In Surah Jinn (19), Allah recognizes His beloved as "the servant of Allah" who stood up in prayer to Him.
In
reality, this name belongs only to Hadrat Muhammad ï·º and to the qutbs, the
individuals of highest spiritual stature in any given time. These are the true
of His divine wisdom. Since the Name Allah is the Greatest Name, the name of
the Essence of God, it is bound by the qualities of the Unity and Oneness of
Allah. Therefore, even if a servant has lost his proper identity in unison with
Allah, his being called 'Abdullah is only metaphorical.
